Scott, Here are the steps. 1. Name the boardOpen Activ studio. Close dashboard. select main menu. choose to name Promethean board. Make sure to make the name recognizable for the room. write down the name.
2. Restart the boardunplug the board. plug it back in. Disconnect your usb cable from your computer.
3. Find your board and open connection. Go to the "My Bluetooth Places" icon on your desktop. open search for bluetooth devices. Your search should reveal the device you named. double click the icon to start the setup. run through the setup. the code is 0000. make sure to configure and mark down the COM you are connecting to. I used COM 6.
6. Open Bluetooth capabilities from your boardHold your Promethean pen over the flame icon in the upper left corner of board. Hold in the little button while you do this. It should start flashing blue. It will give you two minutes to finally connect.
7. Connect Bluetooth from your board to your computerGo back to your computer and notice the promethean board icon with the red X. right click the icon ad select settings. Choose your desingated COM and select connect. Exit. Configure. * so that students cannot see your teacher's bluetooth in their cell phone bluetooth, open "My Bluetooth Places" on the desktop, click on bluetooth in the menu bar, choose bluetooth configuration, and then click the accessibility tab. Finally, one will see a check next to "let other bluetooth devices discover this computer." Simply uncheck the box and the students no longer have a temptation. *teachers will only ever have to complete step 7 so make sure to go over that with them.
